“Everyone thinks she smiles because she doesn’t know how cruel the world can be. The truth is, she smiles precisely because she does.”

Tactical Chronicle: The Evening Sward
#

Golden hour washes over the ancient roots of the grove in thick, honey-toned beams. While the tactical commanders of the Starveil Warband pace the war room dissecting supply failures and perimeter breaches, Lulureese stands upright—all one hundred and ninety-three centimeters of straight-backed Darkspear serenity—watching evening dandelions take flight on the warm thermal currents.

Her tall, athletic frame carries none of the defensive hunch mortals often expect. Her lilac-purple complexion catches the golden twilight, framed by vibrant orchid voodoo markings and the bright, messy cascade of her lime-green ponytail. Resting upon her brow is the delicate Kaldorei Queen’s tiara, its amethyst core catching the setting sun, while birch-wood Cenarion horns curve gracefully from her shoulders.

Perched squarely on her leather-braced forearm is Ribbert. The green, impossibly round frog blinks once, twice, radiating his usual aura of profound skepticism toward existence.

Lulureese chuckles softly—a low, melodic rumble from her throat that sets the silver-leafed brambles humming with life-magic. With a gentle tap of her clawed finger, she conjures a tiny mote of restoration glow beneath Ribbert’s webbed toes.

“See there, Ribbert?” she whispers with a bright, unhurried grin, small ivory tusks glinting in the twilight bloom. “We crossed the shadow. We’re still here. And the flowers don’t care about yesterday’s arithmetic.”

Ribbert lets out a contented croak. In the Warband, intellect diagnoses problems, but Lulureese’s unshakeable warmth keeps the camp alive.
