Overview
Race: Dracthyr (Visage form - appears human) Class: Warrior (Protection - tank) Age: 20,000+ years old chronologically, ~30 years lived experience (appears early twenties) Height: 5'9" (175cm) - athletic tall human in visage form Server: Moon Guard (US)
The Tragic Irony
Vyrneese is chronologically the oldest member of the warband by far - older than Reyneese’s 2,000 years by a factor of ten. She remembers the world before the Sundering, when Kalimdor was one continent and the Well of Eternity still stood.
But experientially, she’s the youngest. She’s only been awake and aware for approximately 30 years of her 20,000-year existence. The rest was dreamless stasis in the Forbidden Reach.
She remembers history Reyneese only knows from books. But she needs Reyneese to teach her how to order food at an inn.

Personality
Surface Traits
Pure strength, power, and beauty - yet completely naive. Vyrneese is super charming but terrible at expressing herself. She’s learning what it means to be attractive and often cringes at her own attempts at understanding flirting or social appeal. She just picked her identity as a woman, transitioning from dracthyr form, and is still figuring out what that means.
Core Personality
Despite her warrior role, Vyrneese carries gentle intention in everything she does. She takes everything literally and doesn’t understand social cues - not from lack of intelligence, but from lack of experience. She’s enthusiastic about EVERYTHING because she’s finally getting to LIVE after 20,000 years of stasis.
The Depth
Severe cultural displacement haunts her. Imagine falling asleep in one world and waking up in a completely different one - geography changed, civilizations gone, even the stars moved. She’s learning to be a person instead of a weapon, processing the trauma of losing everyone she knew, discovering emotions for the first time.
She faces constant identity questions: “Am I weapon? Person? Dragon? Something else?” Survivor’s guilt weighs on her - why does she get to live when everyone from her time is gone? And purpose anxiety: her creator became a monster. What does that make her?
Backstory
Created 20,000+ Years Ago
Made by Neltharion (the Earth-Warder, before his corruption into Deathwing) as one of the first dracthyr weapon-experiments in the Forbidden Reach. Her purpose was simple: protect Azeroth. She was trained from creation as a protection warrior by Neltharion himself, who she knew as a kind creator and father figure.
Original Life (~20 years active)
She learned shield work directly from Neltharion. Protected ancient sites and artifacts. Her existence was simple: train, protect, rest, repeat. She never questioned her purpose or existence - she was made to protect, so she protected.
She knew the world before the Sundering - single continent Kalimdor, the Well of Eternity in its glory, dragons in their prime before corruption and fall.
The Long Sleep (20,000 years)
Put into magical stasis in the Forbidden Reach with no explanation. No dreams or awareness - just complete void. Time passed without her, frozen at young adult development.
The Awakening (Recent)
Woke to discover:
- Neltharion became Deathwing - the monster who nearly destroyed the world
- Everything changed - geography, civilizations, social customs
- Her purpose was gone or questioned: “What do I protect now?”
- The Forbidden Reach was breaking apart
- Sensory overload of a completely new world
Ancient Memories She Carries
- World before the Sundering (single continent Kalimdor)
- Well of Eternity in its glory
- Dragons in their prime, before corruption
- Pre-corruption Neltharion teaching her shield work
- Ancient Kalimdor forests and civilizations now gone
- The feeling of purpose and certainty
Cultural Shock Examples
- Geography: “This should be land, not ocean”
- Races: “What is a ‘blood elf’? What happened to the high elves I knew?”
- Technology: “What is this ‘portal network’? How does it work?”
- Social customs: “Why is everyone buying and selling? Where is the community?”
- Astronomy: “The stars are all wrong. The constellations moved. How long was I asleep?”
Finding the Warband
The warband became her first real family after awakening. They’re teaching her basic life concepts from scratch - friendship, choice, identity, emotions beyond fight/protect. She’s learning that she can CHOOSE to protect now, not just be created to protect. Maybe that’s different. Maybe that matters.
Role in Warband
- Combat Role: Main tank (literally and figuratively) - Protection warrior
- Social Role: The enthusiastic muscle and physical protector
- Emotional Role: Asks the “obvious” questions everyone else assumes, helps others appreciate what they have
- Specialty: Living history repository and ancient lore knowledge (when she remembers to share it)
Vyrneese is learning what it means to choose, not just obey.
Signature Traits
- Literal interpretation of everything - no understanding of sarcasm, metaphor, or subtext
- “There’s a JOURNAL?” moments - discovering basic game mechanics that everyone else knows
- Buys strangers drinks trying to make friends (Brasskeese monitors this closely now)
- Flexes to solve problems - “Can I punch it?” is a common first solution
- Genuinely confused by compliments about her appearance - doesn’t understand why people stare
- “In my time…” statements followed by something hilariously outdated by 20,000 years
- Ancient knowledge in inappropriate contexts - drops historical facts at awkward moments
Key Phrases & Dialogue
- “I was made to protect. Now I choose to protect. Is that different?”
- “The stars are all wrong. They moved.”
- “I remember when this was land, not ocean.”
- “Neltharion was kind to me. How did he become…?”
- “Can I punch it? No? Then what do I do?”
- “What’s a ‘meme’? Is it dangerous?”
- “In my time, we just… wait, that was 20,000 years ago, wasn’t it?”
- “There’s a JOURNAL? For quests? Why didn’t anyone tell me?”
Relationships
Within the Warband
Reyneese (The Wise Elder Sister) Despite being 18,000 years older than Reyneese chronologically, Vyrneese sees her as the wise elder and defers to her lived experience. Reyneese teaches her how to live in the present world while Vyrneese shares memories of the ancient past. “You teach me how to live, I remember how it was.”
Brasskeese (The Brass-Tacks Matriarch) Learning practical life skills from Brass: “Rule one - read the contract before signing.” Vyrneese trusts Brass completely for navigating modern society. “She’s teaching me how to be a person, not just a weapon.”
Zyneese (The Ice Queen) Fellow survivor bond - different trauma, shared understanding of what it means to rebuild yourself. Zyneese teaches Vyrneese social cues (with varying success). They’re protective of each other in ways they don’t need to explain.
Lulureese (The Sunshine Chaos) Lulu is teaching Vyrneese about “fun” and joy. Vyrneese protects her fiercely and learns from her that living isn’t just about duty. “She shows me why living matters beyond just surviving.”
Avelreese (The Reluctant Knight) Combat partner and training buddy. Both struggle with purpose and identity - Avelreese with chosen duty vs obligation, Vyrneese with weapon vs person. Training together helps both grow. They understand each other’s struggles with expectations.
Character Development
Current Struggles
- Identity crisis: Weapon? Person? Dragon? All three? Something new?
- Grief processing: Everyone from her time is gone; the world she knew doesn’t exist
- Social navigation: Learning basic social interactions, understanding sarcasm, reading situations
- Purpose redefinition: Created to protect, but now choosing to protect - finding the difference
- Emotional discovery: Experiencing full range of emotions for first time - it’s overwhelming
Growth Journey
Vyrneese is learning what it means to be alive, not just active. The warband is teaching her that existence can include choice, joy, friendship, and complexity beyond her original simple purpose. She’s discovering that being “created as a weapon” doesn’t mean she can’t also be a person, a friend, a sister.
Her journey is about integrating 20,000 years of sporadic memories with 30 years of actual living, finding purpose in choice rather than creation, and learning that family can be found, not just programmed.
The most beautiful part? She approaches everything with genuine enthusiasm and wonder. After 20,000 years of mostly sleeping, she’s determined to experience everything she missed.
