The Saturday Surprise 2025.0118
Discovering the new horizon. Is this the right time to reignite the passion to write again?
Hello everyone, this is Rey here, compile my experience, discoveries and those little delights accumulated over the week. I thought that I’m grateful to have platform to records those “surprises”. Top 5 discoveries of this week!

Readings and Learning new languages help me to rediscover the joy of living.
Most of the conversation I had this week, I come to realise we’re mostly either bound to my geographical boundaries, duties, commitments, that resulted that we lived a in narrowed view with limited exposure. At times, a little trapped, internal conflicts with that wanderlust feelings.
I come to rediscover and register new account again on SLOWLY. I used to write and try to do networking in this platform, it was then a much simpler platform without ads, and having some stamps collections, doing few ‘delayed’ digital letter exchange with penpals around the world. This time, I think I might just do it slowly and learning to use it to sharpen my thoughts and writing.
I realise I have become a victim of “doom-scrolling” again. The false sense of hoping to find something interesting through scrolling, and happen to find something delightful, occasionally seeming to send me in the opposite direction. Something exciting maybe yes, but at the cost of my health, and mental will power. That’s probably I’m a little under the weather, and succumbed to the attraction of ‘Scrolls of Surprise’ (be it any social media like Reddit, YouTube, Facebook or so..)
Yes, I’m back onto the Substack, despite quite a number of love-hate situation, like it, and leave it, to and fro.. I notice each return there is some slight changes on the platform, and seeing improvement. May I count this as an ecosystem that could help me to strengthen my writing and flow of thoughts?
Help me to stay and see the benefits of it.
